Our Pastoral Staff
OUR PASTOR - AMOS RAWLEY
Amos and his darling wife, Annalee, moved back to Huntington in July 2015 with the help of the church. Amos was a 2010 Bible and Religion graduate of Huntington University, and Annalee was 2011 Pyschology graduate of HU. Amos and Annalee both attended New Hope Church during their college years, including serving for one year in the youth ministry.
These sweethearts were married on July 16, 2011 in Greencastle, Pennsylvania, Amos' hometown, by Amos' father; UB pastor David Rawley. After their honeymoon in Canada Amos and Annalee moved to Myerstown, PA to attend Evangelical Seminary. During their time in Myerstown they served as pastor to some dear folks at Fontana Christian Fellowship Church in Annville, PA. In May of 2015, they both graduated from Evangelical Theological Seminary - Amos with his Master of Divinity, and Annalee with her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Today Annalee is a Liscenced Marriage and Family Therapy Associate working at Grace and Truth Counseling (Huntington) and Hand in Hand Therapy Associates (Fort Wayne). She is also an adjunct professor of pyschology at Huntington University. After a year of serving as associate pastor to Bishop Emritus Ray Seilhamer, today Amos serves as pastor of the New Hope Church.
God is so very good! We ask Him to always keep our eyes fixed on Him; even when that costs us a sacrifice. And this is what we want for New Hope, too. We want to go on God's mission together, and tell the world about a great Savior who loves us.
Some of our favorite Scriptures:
"Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame."
- Genesis 2:25
"The Lord replied, 'My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.' Then Moses said to him, 'If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. Now show me your glory.'"
- Exodus 33:14-15, 28
"So Moses chiseled out two stone tablets like the first ones and went up Mount Sinai early in the morning, as Yahweh had commanded him; and he carried the two stone tablets in his hands. Then Yahweh came down in the cloud and stood there with him and proclaimed his name, Yahwhe. And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “Yahweh, Yahweh, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.”
- Exodus 34:4-7
"Investigate me, God! Know my heart.
Examine me! Know my disquieting thoughts.
So, God, take note of a distressful path within me, a way of pain,
and bring me over to an established path.
(Lead me in a tried and true path!)"
- Psalm 139:23-24, Amos’ translation
"'You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,' declares Yahweh."
- Jeremiah 29:13-14
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
- Matthew 11:28-30
"Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'"
- Matthew 28:18-20
"Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great:
He appeared in the flesh,
was vindicated by the Spirit,[a]
was seen by angels,
was preached among the nations,
was believed on in the world,
was taken up in glory."
- 1 Timothy 3:16
"Behold, I am making all things new."
- Revelation 21:5
